How do I know if I have athletes foot?
Athlete's foot is a common condition that is seen in the skin and nail. This is caused by a fungus or mold that thrives in dark, warm, moist areas. This can be seen anywhere on the skin and/or nails.

Can this be spread?
Yes, this can be spread when people go barefoot. Examples would be public showers or swimming pools, hotel room carpets etc. The condition ranges from small scaling and itchy areas to painful, inflamed blisters.

TREATMENT
The skin can easily be treated with topical medication or oral pills. Sprays for excessive sweating and foot soaks may help as well. The nails will generally require oral medication or laser treatment which Dr. Wood will prescribe or perform.

It is recommended that patients dry their feet carefully, change socks and avoid public areas such as pools, showers or locker rooms.
